Xi Wang is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at École polytechnique, IP Paris. Before that, he was a postdoc researcher at @VISTA Team, LIX, École polytechnique, working with Vicky Kalogeiton. He finished his Ph.D. at Univ Rennes 1, Inria Rennes, and IRISA, advised by Marc Christie and Eric Marchand. His main research interests lie in generative models, 3D vision, and computational cinematography, focusing on the intersection of data privacy and artificial intelligence, particularly leveraging advanced cryptographic techniques to ensure secure and private data handling in AI systems. With the increasing use of AI in sensitive areas like healthcare, finance, and government, Xi’s work aims to develop protocols that protect individual data while still allowing AI systems to perform optimally. By employing methods such as homomorphic encryption and secure multiparty computation, Xi’s project seeks to advance privacy-preserving AI solutions that can be applied across various sectors where data security is critical.
Xi Wang was previously a Hi! PARIS Postdoctoral Researcher, his PostDoc project focused on Generative for Creative: Balanced and Effective Control for Creativity. He is now a Hi! PARIS Chair Holder at École polytechnique (IP Paris), since June 2025.
