Biography

Julien Romero is an Assistant Professor at Télécom SudParis, and a Hi! PARIS Fellow.

His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, knowledge graphs, graph learning, and large language models. He works on AI systems that combine knowledge-based reasoning, graph-based methods, and natural language processing, with a strong interest in open and responsible research practices.

Before joining Télécom SudParis, he completed his PhD at Télécom Paris in the DIG team, under the supervision of Fabian Suchanek and Nicoleta Preda. He later held a postdoctoral position at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in the Databases and Information Systems group. He also co-directs the DataAI Master at Institut Polytechnique de Paris and leads the MAIA Master in machine learning at Télécom SudParis.
