Jesse Read is a Professor in the ORAILIX team of the Data Analytics and Machine Learning pole at LIX, École polytechnique. He is also a Hi! PARIS Fellow for the 2026-2029 period.

His research focuses on machine learning and AI, with particular interests in reinforcement learning, sequence modeling, and probabilistic approaches to reliability and trustworthiness. Before becoming Professor in 2019, he joined École Polytechnique as Assistant Professor in 2016, after postdoctoral research positions at Télécom Paris, Aalto University in Finland, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain. He received his PhD from the University of Waikato in New Zealand in 2010.
