Ioana Manolescu is a Senior Researcher at Inria and École polytechnique. She leads the CEDAR project-team, a joint team of Inria and LIX focused on rich data analytics at cloud scale. She is also an ACM Senior Member and President of the French-speaking Data Management Association.

Her research focuses on data management, data journalism, journalistic fact-checking, graph data management, data lakes, and interactive data exploration. Her work develops models, tools, and algorithms to help users explore, connect, and analyze large-scale heterogeneous data.

Ioana Manolescu is a Hi! PARIS Advanced Fellow for the 2025-2028 period with the project “AI Data Dialogs for the Press.” This fellowship focuses on natural language interfaces to data, question answering, data discovery, language models, retrieval-augmented generation, data journalism, and journalistic fact-checking.

Through this project, she explores how AI can support journalists in finding, interrogating, and verifying data more effectively, while contributing to transparency and trust in information.
