Andrea Simonetto is an Associate Professor in the Applied Mathematics Department at ENSTA. He is also affiliated with the Combinatorial Optimization team at the CEDRIC lab, CNAM, and is a member of the Research Ethics Committee of Institut Polytechnique de Paris. He is also a Hi! PARIS Fellow for the 2026-2029 period.
His research lies at the intersection of optimization and learning for large-scale, streaming, and time-varying data. He works on online algorithms, flexible optimization for cyber-physical systems, and variational quantum algorithms for optimization problems. His application domains include smart grids, intelligent transportation, personalized health, incentive design, and quantum computing.
