Biography

Matthew Yeaton is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Business Policy at HEC Paris. He is a strategy scholar and computational social scientist whose work focuses on organizational culture, social networks, and digital environments.

His research explores how information, language, networks, and digital platforms influence strategic decision-making, coordination, persuasion, and public perception. He is particularly interested in how organizations and individuals use digital spaces to position themselves, learn from others, or influence collective behavior.

Matthew Yeaton is a Hi! PARIS Chair Holder for the 2021-2024 period with the project “Strategy and Computer Science.” His work uses computational methods, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing to study culture in social networks, including how online communities evolve and how harmful speech can be reduced without simply banning users.

Through this project, he contributes to a better understanding of the links between strategy, organizational behavior, digital platforms, and AI-based analysis of social interactions.
